Earlier this year a Shopify change quietly broke the classic way of prefilling checkout fields from the cart page. We rebuilt the feature on solid ground.

Pickup point prefill now uses Shopify's Cart API. When a customer picks a point in the cart widget, the pickup point address is written onto the cart itself — so the checkout opens with the delivery address already set, on any theme, without fragile URL tricks.

• Works with existing checkout sessions — changing the point refreshes the address
• Rolling out now to stores using the cart page widget

Less typing at checkout means fewer abandoned carts — the boring kind of improvement that pays rent.
