Shopify relay points, ready for Effitr@ce

5.0 ratingBuilt for Shopify

Effitr@ce (Effitrace) is the warehouse management system by the French company Effisys. It imports your Shopify orders and tells carriers apart by the shipping method name and the data the official Mondial Relay, Chronopost and Colissimo apps leave on the order. Globe writes exactly that format. Customers pick a relay point on one map in your checkout, and the warehouse gets every order with the right carrier and relay point.

How it works

Relay points in the format Effitr@ce already reads: Mondial Relay, Chronopost and Colissimo.

  1. 01

The format of the official apps

Mondial Relay points go to the mondial_relay_* order attributes, Chronopost points to the order.chronopost-relay-id metafield, and Colissimo points to the Colissimo.service metafield with the point type (A2P or BPR). These are the fields Effitr@ce reads.

  2. 02

    The shipping name Effitr@ce expects

Effitr@ce recognizes the carrier by the shipping method name. Globe renames it on the order, for example to “Chronopost - Livraison en relais Pickup” or “Livraison en point relais - Colissimo”, so one “Point relais” rate in your checkout can cover all three carriers.

  3. 03

    Set up in two places

In Globe, turn on the options under Post-order processing for each carrier. In Effitr@ce, enter the same shipping names in the custom module (module sur mesure) and map them to your carrier codes.

Is this an official Effitr@ce integration?

Globe writes the order the way the official Mondial Relay, Chronopost and Colissimo apps do, and that is the standard Effitr@ce is built on. Nothing has to be developed on either side: in Effitr@ce, you only map the shipping names in the custom module.

Can Mondial Relay, Chronopost and Colissimo share one shipping rate?

Yes. Your checkout shows one rate with all three networks on one map. Once the order is placed, Globe gives it the shipping name of the chosen carrier. Shopify can't rename an existing shipping line, so Globe replaces it with an order edit. Apps that read the order total should use the current total (current_total_price).

Do we have to rename the shipping method?

No. If you keep a separate rate per carrier, name each rate the way Effitr@ce expects and leave the renaming off. Globe then only adds the relay point data and never edits the order.

When does Effitr@ce see the relay point?

Globe writes the shipping name and the relay point within seconds of the order being created. Ask Effitr@ce to import your orders a few minutes after they are placed, so everything is in place before the import.

We still have the official Colissimo app installed. Is that a problem?

It can be. The Colissimo app writes its own value to the same metafield on every order, Globe orders included. Globe corrects it, but if Effitr@ce imports the order in between, it reads the wrong code. Once Globe shows your Colissimo relay points, uninstall the Colissimo app unless you need it for something else.
