How Elmich ships cookware with Packeta and DPD to four countries with Globe
Elmich is a Czech maker of PFAS-free cookware, with its own product development and factory. It sells on Shopify Plus in Czechia, Slovakia, Poland and Hungary and ships from its warehouse in Ostrava with Packeta and DPD.
In May they moved from the Packeta app to Globe so they could add DPD. Customers pick a pickup point right in the checkout, the warehouse prints labels for both carriers in batches in the Shopify admin, and Globe keeps track of deliveries and cash on delivery for them.

From the Packeta app to Globe in under two hours
Elmich switched from the Packeta app to Globe on a Wednesday at noon. They swapped the pickup point block in the checkout, and Globe converted orders already placed with a Packeta point to its own format, so the warehouse shipped them as usual. The first DPD order came in the same afternoon.

Custom logic
The custom part: COD that adds up on split shipments and returns
The problem: Elmich's warehouse splits bigger orders into several parcels, and Globe divides the cash on delivery between them. When the warehouse cancelled the label for a whole order and only then split it, the cancelled label still counted, and the parcels carried half the amount. DPD also reports a return with the same status as a delivery, so an uncollected COD parcel looked paid.
What Globe does now
Globe now splits the COD only between parcels that actually ship, and spots a DPD return even when DPD reports it as delivered.
- If a label is about to be created for a leftover that matches no parcel, the admin warns first.
- Both changes now run for every shop on Globe.

The warehouse prints labels in batches right in Shopify
The warehouse in Ostrava sorts orders in Shopify views and creates DPD and Packeta labels in batches. When DPD rejects one address, the rest of the batch still gets its labels.
- The rejected order shows what DPD sent back, such as an address line that is too long.
- Once the label exists, Globe fulfills the order with its tracking number, emails the customer and adds the globe_exported tag, so the order drops out of the unfulfilled view.
- Globe checks delivery status every hour and marks collected cash on delivery as paid in Shopify.
- Address IQ, our address autocomplete, shows a yellow banner in the checkout when the house number is missing.
