How Dedoles runs pickup points in twelve countries straight from the Shopify Plus checkout

Dedoles, the cheerful socks brand from Bratislava, sells in twelve countries from Germany to Bulgaria and has been moving market by market to Shopify Plus since last year. Globe handles the pickup points in every one of them: eighteen networks from Foxpost to DHL Packstation, the selector right in the checkout, and around forty thousand pickup point orders a month and growing, with peaks above six thousand a day and Black Friday still ahead. Labels and the warehouse are not Globe's job here; Dedoles has its own systems for that, and they read a single metafield.

Dedoles

We use the Globe app across multiple Dedoles markets within our e-commerce stores, and we are very satisfied with it.

The app is clear, intuitive, and reliable. The implementation went smoothly, and everything works exactly as expected. We especially appreciate the ease of setup and the overall user-friendliness.

The biggest advantage, however, is the support team (especially Adam), they respond very quickly, are always helpful, and handle any additional settings or custom adjustments almost immediately. Communication is professional and efficient.

On behalf of the Dedoles team, we highly recommend it. 😊

Review on the Shopify App Store · September 2026

Stores split by currency, a fitting network in every country

Dedoles runs several Shopify Plus stores, split by currency. The main one, dedoles.com in euros, ships to more than twenty European countries, and Globe's pickup points work in seven of them: Germany, Austria, Slovakia, Croatia, Slovenia, France and Bulgaria. Beside it stand national stores for Czechia, Hungary, Poland and Romania, each in its own currency. In the checkout the customer picks the shipping rate for their country and gets the map of the network that works there right below it: DHL in Germany with post offices and Packstation lockers, where Globe asks for the Postnummer, SPS and Packeta in Slovakia limited to branches and Z-BOX lockers, Foxpost in Hungary, InPost Paczkomat lockers in Poland, Sameday easybox and FAN Courier in Romania.

For Dedoles a new market is one shipping rate and a few ticked networks. Hungary came in April, Poland in June, Austria through Spring GDS and DPD within the afternoon they asked for it, and Ukraine with Nova Post joins as its store opens. When DHL or PPL announce a change to their network, Dedoles forwards the notice and Globe confirms it does not touch them.

Checkout on Plus: the pickup point map sits right under the shipping rate, no detour through the cart.

The custom part: no order gets through without a pickup point

The problem

During the migration, hundreds of orders a month reached Dedoles's biggest store without a pickup point: a closed map, or an express button that skips the checkout. A point assigned automatically afterwards often went uncollected.

What Globe does now

The checkout can no longer be completed without a chosen point; Dedoles switched on Globe's validation in the checkout settings. Anyone who still gets past it sees a prominent notice on the thank-you and order status pages, worded for them in seven countries, and the pickup point metafield carries the time the point was added, so their Flow and warehouse can tell a customer's choice from an automatic one. A week now leaves a few dozen orders to complete instead of hundreds.

When and how we build custom logic

Labels and emails are Dedoles's own, from one metafield

Globe prints not a single label for Dedoles, because none is needed: every order drops straight into their fulfilment centre and the parcel is dispatched from there, with nothing exported or printed by hand. Globe's part is to store the chosen point in an order metafield and rewrite the order's shipping address to the pickup point's. Their middleware and the fulfilment centre read that one metafield, and the same one prints the pickup address in the order confirmation email through a Liquid snippet from Globe. Cash on delivery is theirs too: a checkout extension adds the fee to the cart as a line of its own, and Globe leaves that line, like any other item that does not ship, out of its decisions.

Order status: the customer can check or change the chosen point after paying, too.
