How Nebe prints GLS and Packeta labels from its own warehouse app, without a single click in Shopify

Nebe sews bamboo underwear in Czechia and ships it across Czechia, Slovakia and, through Packeta, to other European countries. It has run on Globe since summer 2024, on a regular Shopify plan: the customer picks a pickup point after paying, GLS and Packeta labels are created on their own through Shopify Flow, and the PDF reaches the warehouse app Nebe wrote itself by webhook. The order is marked fulfilled only once the courier has the parcel.

Nebe

The app works great, and so does the fast, helpful customer support. We recommend it to anyone considering Shopify.

What Nebe ships with

The pickup point after payment, on a regular plan

Nebe is not on Shopify Plus, so there is no selector in the checkout itself. The customer only picks the shipping method there, with a note that says the pickup point comes from a map in the next step, and gets that map right after paying, on the thank-you page: GLS lockers, AlzaBox, GLS parcel shops, Packeta Z-BOX lockers and branches, Packeta in Slovakia. Picking after the purchase also catches everyone who pays with Apple Pay, Google Pay or Shop Pay: express payments skip the cart and the regular checkout selector, but not the thank-you page. Customers can come back to the choice any time from the order status page, and if they skip it, the warehouse fills the point in from the admin with the Modify pickup point action.

Lockers win: roughly three in four Nebe customers who choose a pickup point pick a GLS locker or a Z-BOX over a shop. Nebe tried email reminders for missing points too; today it leaves the choice to the thank-you and order status pages. For Packeta, Nebe chose the classic Packeta widget with its own map instead of Google Maps; the GLS points show on Globe's Google map.

The custom part: the label reaches the warehouse without anyone opening Shopify

The problem

Nebe is building its own warehouse app: the crew picks and packs in it without access to Shopify. The last step was missing, the shipping label. It came from a click in the admin, and without Shopify the crew could not get to it.

What Globe does now

A Shopify Flow from Globe creates the label on its own once the order is paid or has a pickup point. Globe then sends a webhook straight to Nebe's warehouse app, with the label PDF and the tracking number. GLS labels were missing from the webhook at first; we added them the day after David asked.

When and how we build custom logic→

GLS and Packeta from Shopify, fulfilled only on handover

GLS labels print four to an A4 sheet, Packeta on A6, both from one admin or automatically through Flow. GLS has a few quirks Globe handles for the warehouse: a pickup point shipment needs a mobile number from that country, and a label once printed is never issued again, so Globe stores labels at the first print and serves reprints itself.

The order is marked fulfilled in Shopify and the customer gets the tracking email only once GLS scans the parcel; we check every hour. With Packeta, collected cash on delivery is marked paid in Shopify. And when a customer pays part of the order with store credit, only the rest goes on the GLS label as cash on delivery, while the declared parcel value stays the full amount.

The chosen GLS locker on the order: that is the point Globe puts on the label.

Thanks to Nebe for letting us show how they built their own warehouse onto Globe, and for recommending us. And if you want underwear you don't feel, try their bamboo boxers: they are sewn in Czechia, in colours named midnight, dusk and northern lights.
