How Posedla ships one order in two parcels, weeks apart

Posedla makes Joyseat, a bike saddle 3D-printed to fit one rider, and ships it worldwide: more than 10,000 riders in over 50 countries ride on one. Before it can be made, the rider sits on a foam imprint at home, so every order travels in two parts: the Smiling Butt Kit first, the saddle a few weeks later. The store runs on Shopify Plus and Globe handles both parcels: Packeta and PPL pickup points in the checkout for Czechia and Slovakia, and labels for the rest of Europe from the same Shopify admin.

What Posedla ships with

Kit first, saddle weeks later, still one order

Every Joyseat order also carries the Smiling Butt Kit, a free foam pad the rider sits on to measure their sit bones. The kit has to reach them before anything can be printed, so the warehouse ships it on its own: it creates the label in Globe and marks only the kit as fulfilled in Shopify. Automatic fulfilment is switched off in Globe on purpose, so a label never closes the whole order and the saddle stays open next to the kit.

The rider uploads photos of the imprint to Posedla's configurator, Posedla designs and prints the saddle, and three to five weeks later the same order comes up again. The warehouse creates the second label from it in the same view. The carrier and the pickup point or address the customer chose are still on the order, so nobody retypes anything and both parcels belong to one order number.

Packeta and PPL points in the Plus checkout

Czech and Slovak customers choose where the parcel goes right in the checkout: a Packeta pickup point or a PPL point. Both networks are offered in both countries, and the map shows the points of the shipping method the customer picked.

Because the choice is made at checkout, the point is already on the order when the kit's label is created, and it is still there weeks later for the saddle's.

Labels for the rest of Europe from one Packeta account

At home the warehouse prints PPL labels for home delivery and PPL points, and Packeta labels for pickup points and home delivery. Riders in other countries are covered by Packeta too: one account, and Packeta hands the parcel to a local partner, Hermes in Germany, DPD in Austria, Colis Privé in France, MRW in Spain and Portugal, and the national post in Slovenia and Croatia. Slovak parcels also travel with PPL Parcel Connect.

In Globe each country's shipping methods are mapped to the right carrier service once, in the label printing settings, so the label is right whichever country the order comes from. Labels are created straight from the orders in Shopify, one at a time or in bulk, for the kit and the saddle alike.

Riders see the same split in their customer account: the kit on its way with its Packeta tracking number, the saddle still being prepared, and the chosen pickup point above both.
